Welcome to DASH United

DASH (Downeast Association of Sports for Homeschoolers) provides competitive, Christ-centered high school athletics for homeschooled students. Serving the Southeast Raleigh area, DASH currently offers basketball and soccer for both boys and girls, along with girls’ volleyball, at the varsity, junior varsity, and middle school levels. Our athletes come from across Wake, Johnston, Wilson, Nash, and Wayne counties.
DASH is a proud member of the North Carolinians for Home Education Athletic Conference (NCHEAC) and competes regularly against other homeschool programs, as well as private Christian and non-Christian schools throughout the region.
As a Christian-based organization, DASH exists to give homeschool athletes the opportunity to compete at a high level—often in ways that may not otherwise be available to them. We are committed to developing the whole athlete by fostering growth in faith, athletics, and leadership.
Spiritual Growth: We encourage each athlete’s walk with Christ through prayer before every practice and game, while challenging players to live according to biblical principles both on and off the field.
Athletic Development: Our programs emphasize strong fundamentals, technical and tactical understanding, conditioning, coordination, and sport-specific skill development.
Character & Leadership: We intentionally build character by promoting integrity, respect for others, positive attitudes, teamwork, and exemplary sportsmanship.
At DASH, athletics are more than competition—they are a platform for growth, discipline, and purpose.

Families choose homeschooling for many different reasons, shaped by their values, priorities, and individual family needs. In recent years, a growing number of student-athletes have turned to homeschooling because it offers the flexibility and personalized structure necessary to successfully balance academics with athletic development.
Below are several reasons why homeschooling has become an attractive option for student-athletes:
Homeschooling allows athletes to arrange their study schedules around training sessions, competitions, and travel. This flexibility can reduce stress and prevent conflicts between school and sports, allowing athletes to dedicate time to both without compromising either.
Athletes can learn at their own pace, accelerating through subjects they excel in or taking more time for challenging ones. This personalized approach helps them manage academic pressures, especially during intense training or competitive seasons.
Homeschooling gives athletes greater control over their routines, allowing for adequate sleep, recovery, and nutrition management, which are essential for peak performance.
Some athletes find that homeschooling minimizes distractions or peer pressures they might face in traditional school environments. This can help them stay focused on their goals.
By controlling their daily schedule, athletes have more time for specialized training, conditioning, or physical therapy, allowing them to fine-tune skills and maintain fitness at high levels.
Homeschooling often allows parents to be more involved in their child’s education and training, offering support and guidance to help them stay motivated and balanced.
